Flights diverted with emergency closure of NAIA runwayAirport authorities closed a major runway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City to prevent damages on aircraft flying in and out of the runway. It will also forego the regular runway cleaning schedules (1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.) to cope with expected influx of diverted flights. As of posting, 10 flights — two international and eight domestic flights — have already been diverted to the Clark International Airport to ease flight traffic congestion.
