Five remanded for seven days in MACC probe on Felda's sturgeon project [VIDEO]


PUTRAJAYA: Five people including a 57-year-old 'Datuk' were remanded for a week to facilitate probe involving power abuse and misappropriation of funds in a Felda's fish breeding project. The remand orders on the five, effective today until Jan 31, were issued by magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman. The five, clad in orange MACC lockup attire, arrived at the Putrajaya magistrate court at 9am. It was reported that the five were believed to be tied to a sturgeon fish breeding technology transfer project worth about USD$10 million (RM47.6mil). A source told NST that the anti-graft body had seized luxurious items, including cars and jewellery estimated millions, during the raids at the suspects' houses.
