Five policemen were killed and several injured in a blast allegedly by Maoists at Sunki, Koraput district on the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border on Wednesday afternoon. An IED went off when a vehicle carrying several policemen of the Odisha State Armed Police was on the Sunki-Salur highway. The blast left five policemen dead and several others injured according to the sources. On the other hand, the injured policemen have been rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, vehicular movement on the Sunki-Salur highway that connects Odisha with Andhra Pradesh has been suspended.
