JOHOR BARU: Four Vietnamese women and an Indonesian man linked to the kidnapping of a housewife in Kulai pleaded guilty in the magistrate's court here for overstaying in the country and working without a permit. The four women were sentenced to two months' jail and fined RM10,000 in default of 12 months in jail. The women Vo Thai Minh Tam, 26, Nguyen Thai Thu Thao, 22, Nguyen Thi Suong, 19, and Nguyen Thu Nga, 19, committed the offence at an apartment at Jalan Serantau at around 6am on March 13. They admitted to overstaying for more than three to 10 months than permitted since entering the country last year. In the same courtroom, Indonesian fruit stall worker Fuad Lutfi Hakim, 26, also one of the suspects nabbed in the kidnapping case, was charged with working without a valid permit.
