O'Neill gives no time scale on Coleman leg break recovery - Football

(Reuters) - Ireland and Everton defender Seamus Coleman underwent a successful leg operation but it is too early to put a time frame on his recovery, the country's manager Martin O'Neill has said. Coleman suffered a double leg fracture following a wild challenge by Wales defender Neil Taylor, who was shown a straight red card in the goalless World Cup qualifier at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday. "I'm not sure, I would only be guessing," O'Neill told reporters when asked how long Coleman could be out of action. "Sometimes there are complications afterwards and injuries can be more prolonged, other times it can be clean and clear sailing. "It will take some time to heal, it's a double break but it has been pinned up now and screwed in," O'Neill added.
