KAJANG: Four elderly residents and their caretaker died after a fire razed a centre for the elderly in Sungai Long, Kajang early Wednesday (Dec 13). Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul Said that the department responded to the fire at about 5am. He said the victims were believed to have died of smoke inhalation. The centre is believed to have only been operating for two months. "Without a licence, they actually cannot operate," he said adding that the licence would involve getting the approval of the Fire and Rescue Department as well.
