Five killed in escalating Libya hostilitiesfrom AHMED ZAYED in Tripoli, LibyaTRIPOLI, (CAJ News) – AT least five civilians, including two children, have been killed during escalation of fighting in eastern Libya. Some 11 civilians, including four children, have been injured as a result of the increased fighting rival groups since last week. “Immediate safe and unrestricted access to Derna for humanitarian actors and humanitarian goods needs to be granted,” a spokesperson said. Instability is tearing Libya apart since Muammar Gaddafi was forced out of power and subsequently killed in 2011. The government of President Mohammed Yousef el-Magariaf, in power since 2012, has been weak and unable effectively to exert its authority.
