Law enforcers have increased surveillance on fake currency rackets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, which will be observed in Bangladesh on Sep 13. In past one month, police have arrested several people with a huge amount of fake notes from different locations in of the country, including Dhaka and Chittagong. On Sep 1, eight persons, who belonged to currency counterfeiting ring, were arrested from the capital's Paltan area with fake notes worth Tk 5.2 million.
