The State Services Commission recently released its Senior Pay Report, outlining chief executive remuneration bands in the public sector for the 2015-16 financial year. He worked for the SCDHB as general manager of finance and commercial for three years before his appointment as chief executive. He said the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists' comparison of chief executive salaries with doctors was inaccurate. Whereas chief executive remuneration is set by the board and must have State Service Commissioner's consent for any changes," he said.
