Forty-year-old Muztaba Shahriar died at Dhaka’s Mugda Medical College and Hospital on Sunday, according to one his colleagues. Assistant Professor Mahbubur Rahman, the focal person of the hospital’s Covid-19 team, confirmed that he was a Covid-19 patient. According to a source at the bank, Shahriar, who was suffering from high fever for few days, underwent coronavirus testing twice upon advised by his relatives who were doctors. Shahriar later went to Mugda Medical College and Hospital for further checkup after his condition deteriorated on Saturday morning, when he was advised to get admitted immediately.
