BigstockThe allocation will meet different needs, including employee salary payments and relief distribution costsThe Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry has allocated Tk52.25 crore more for local government institutions to meet different needs, including paying salaries and allowances of the employees and carrying out relief activities, amid the covid-19 shutdown. The Local Government Division today issued a government order (GO) in this regard, said a press release. Of the total allocation, Tk24.45 crore has been allocated for 492 Upazila Parishads, TK16 crore for 61 District Councils, TK6.80 crore for 12 city corporations and Tk5 crore for 138 “B” and “C” category municipalities. Earlier, the ministry gave a special allocation of Tk33.02 crore for the local government institutions on March 25 to face the coronavirus situation.
