First World War Comes to Life in Gander

(Submitted)First World War Comes to Life was set up at The Rooms in St. John's on July 1 for the ceremonies marking the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel. A national travelling exhibit about World War One that impressed spectators in St. John's this week will now be setting up for two days in Gander. The free exhibit, titled First World War Comes to Life, explores the lesser known wartime contributions of the Canadian men and women who served beyond the trenches, both at home and overseas. The exhibit was launched in 2014 and will continue to move across Canada until 2018 — the final 100th anniversary year of the First World War. Part of the exhibit lets people try beans from the Clark Beans company, which provided rations to Canadian service members during World War One.
