The Highlanders racked up 50 points last Friday night, finally breaking a drought during which they failed to reach the half-century mark. The Highlanders scored six converted tries to beat a woeful Rebels team. It was a more than comfortable win for the side and the first time the Highlanders had scored more than 50 points for 15 years. Last year, it scored 48 points in beating the Kings in Port Elizabeth and the year before it scored 48 points in beating the Sharks at Forsyth Barr Stadium. In 1997, Sharks fullback Gavin Lawless scored 50 points himself in his side's 75-43 win in Durban.
