Emergency services were called to a "well involved" house fire in Makarau. Firefighters have put out a large house fire in the north of Auckland. Four fire trucks, a water tanker and an assistant area commander were called to a two-storey home on Tahekeroa Rd in Makarau. A Fire and Emergency spokesman said it was called to the scene at 5.25pm and the house was "well-involved" in flames. By 6.40pm, another Fire and Emergency spokesman said the fire had "definitely been contained" and was "basically out".
