A house on Massey St in Frankton went up in flames. Fire crews were called to the blaze in a weatherboard villa on Massey St in Frankton at 9.45pm on Sunday. A couple were at home at the time when they smelt smoke and went to investigate, Hamilton Fire Brigade station officer Brett Cowper said. By the time the first crews arrived from central Hamilton the house was alight "end to end". Two crews from Hamilton and another from Pukete attended the blaze, dousing the fire and bringing it under control fairly quickly.
