DAVAO CITY –– A mid-day fire on Wednesday (June 15) razed 60 houses near the Bankerohan Public Market here. Fire Inspector Richard Quiboquibo said the fire broke out past 11 a.m. in Purok 2 of Bankerohan Riverside, engulfing the area in thick black smoke. ADVERTISEMENTAn initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed that the blaze originated from a house where an electric fuse box exploded. The flames easily spread to other structures due to strong winds, sending residents scampering to safety. The BFP estimated the damage to houses at P630,000.
