Firefighters were called to a Te Anau hotel early today after a BBQ caught fire. A Fire and Emergency spokesman said two trucks from Te Anau Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to a commercial building in the Southland town at 5.29am. "The information I have is that the BBQ was on a wooden balcony on the first floor''. A post on the Te Anau Volunteer Fire Brigade's social media page confirmed the incident occurred at the Distinction Luxmore Hotel. There was no comment from the hotel.
