The inferno destroyed properties running into several thousands of cedis of Ghana cedis according to the account of the victims. Items destroyed include; electrical appliances, furniture, foodstuffs and a huge amount of money they kept in saves. It took the intervention of the traders and people around including the fire service personnel to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known.
