Evacuation orders for Nora and Florence lakes have been lifted by the province, however emergency crews remain in the area for any forest fire flare-ups. Some residents and cottagers in eastern Manitoba are being allowed to return to their properties. Cottagers and area residents can call their local district Manitoba Sustainable Development offices to get up-to-date information about fires. Road conditions in the area have deteriorated since the evacuation was put in place, so caution when driving is also urged. For further general information on the fire status, maps, travel restrictions, burning permit cancellations or other restrictions, check the province's website.
