Police and firefighters were called to a property on Kaimoana R in Wairoa on Sunday night. A scene examination will begin at a property believed to be a gang pad in Wairoa, after it was destroyed by fire on Sunday night. It’s understood the property,‘’The Trident’’ on Kaimoana Rd, belonged to the Mongrel Mob. Detective Sergeant Sam Park said one person was reported to be asleep in the building at the time, but was able to escape uninjured. Police and Fire and Emergency NZ investigators will work together to determine the cause however initial indications are that it is not suspicious.
