Final round brings no surprises

The final round of the Otago premier schools competition before the teams split into sections provided few surprises. In the only match that mattered to where teams finished Mount Aspiring College confirmed its place in the middle four with a 24-18 win over St Kevin's College. King's HS had a 70-0 win over South Otago HS in the rain in Balclutha while in a game that was televised, Dunstan High School beat Wakatipu High School 29-10 in Queenstown. Southland Boys' High School won 50-29 over the Otago Boys' High School second XV while Otago Boys' High School first XV won 108-3 over the Combined co-ed schools side in a game which did neither side any favours. John McGlashan had beaten Waitaki Boys' High School some weeks ago in the final game of the round.
