NBA star Steven Adams celebrated his 26th birthday by watching his secondary schools all-stars teams play in Christchurch on Saturday. The Oklahoma Thunder centre has been running his Steven Adams camps in the city and called in Victoria Cross winner Willie Apiata to speak to his hoops hopefuls. Adams - who had "Happy Birthday" sung to him by the girls' teams - told Sky Sport while watching the boys and girls Steven Adams Invitational High School All Stars teams play ahead of the New Zealand NBL semifinals that the whole aim of his programme was to build young people with character.
