According to eyewitnesses, the attack took place on the school compound. Students were seen fleeing the scene in panic and shortly afterward, Emmanuella was found lying unconscious on the ground. Efforts to secure immediate assistance from the Winneba Fire Service proved unsuccessful due to a broken-down fire tender. Although personnel from the Apam Fire Service eventually arrived, they were too late to provide any meaningful support. Emmanuella was rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the early hours of the following morning.
