He called on the government to take proactive steps to cushion citizens, including scrapping the GH¢1 fuel levy, which he said would immediately relieve some of the pressure on consumers at the pumps. According to him, the anticipated price increases could place additional financial strain on households and businesses, particularly as many Ghanaians are already grappling with high living costs. “The levy was introduced when fuel prices were relatively low. Keeping it now, as prices continue to rise, only deepens the burden on Ghanaians,” he stated.
