Film Federation of India claims Oscar selection is a copy of Chhelo Show Cinema ParadisoFilm Federation of India (FFI) president TP Agarwal has rubbished FWICE’s claims that India’s official entry to the Oscars, Chhelo Show, is a copy of the Academy Award-winning Italian film Cinema Paradiso (1988). When we showed him the film, I had not seen the film because as President I should not see the picture. Aggarwal also vehemently rejected the claims that Chhelo Show is a copy of Cinema Paradiso. To this Aggarwal said, “The Film Federation of India has already taken permission from the Academy whether the film can be shown this year or not. FWICE had also questioned why Chhelo Indian was being treated as an Indian film as it was produced by an international studio.
