MANILA, Philippines — In time for the annual International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, the Department of Health (DOH) urged Filipinos who tested positive for HIV to avail free treatment, care, and support services. President Rogrigo Duterte signed the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018 into law last December 20. READ: Duterte signs HIV and AIDS Policy Act“Accessing medications and treatment is a basic human right of every PLHIV (People Living with HIV),” Duque added. “Among the priority HIV activities this year are offering free condoms and lubricants, HIV testing, and Antiretroviral (ARV) treatment for PLHIV,” Duque said. “Included also is the implementation of Rapid HIV Diagnostic (rHIVda) or same-day HIV test result in 15 laboratories and execution of LHIVE Free Campaign,” he added.
