KUCHING: A Filipino domestic helper has been left hospitalised after an alleged beating by her employer's family here. Penny Fritz Gutierrez Pido, 39, alleged that she was kicked and hit in the head and limbs by her employer's daughter on May 8. Her plight came to light when Bandar Kuching MP Kelvin Yii posted about it on Facebook on May 16. Penny said police came to talk to her on May 16 together with Yii, after Yii was tipped off about her case. Her sister Jackylin Pido, who came to Kuching on May 21, hoped police would speed up their investigation.
