Ferrying of motorists along the Likoni and Mtongwe channels has been suspended indefinitely after heavy rains pounded Mombasa leading to an overflow of water. Kenya Ferry Services MD Bakari Gowa said they will only offer services to passengers. "Ferry services suspended until 1000hrs due to high tides. Earlier, the oldest ferry MV Nyayo was pushed by heavy tides off the Likoni channel towards the deep sea with commuters on board.
