Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) authorities suspended the services from 6am Monday due to heavy fog in the river. Around 150 small and large vehicles are waiting at the ferry terminal to be transported to the other side, confirmed Manager of BIWTC Shimulia terminal (commerce) Ghiasuddin Patwari. He said: "The ferry services have remained suspended from 6am as it became risky to navigate through the heavy fog. After the fog recedes, ferry services will be resumed."
