Twenty-nine people, including the president and general secretary of Feni district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), a pro-BNP student organisation, have been sued over an attack that allegedly targeted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s motorcade. The accused JCD leaders are President Noim Ullah Choudhury and General Secretary Salah Uddin. Other accused include BNP’s Feni district leaders Zakir Hossain Jashim, Alamgir Choudhury and MA Khaleque. Soon after the incident, BNP leaders including Khaleda alleged that leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League were behind the attack. The Awami League denied the allegation, saying that the incident was a result of a feud between BNP leaders Zainul Abedin and Rehana Akhter Ranu.
