Kaitake farmers Barbara and Murray Gibbins say losing $8k in product won't ruin business, but it'll definitely have an impact. A Taranaki farming couple have been left $8000 out of pocket after more than three tonnes of their calf feed was stolen. Murray and Barbara Gibbins, of Kaimata, near Inglewood, woke on Sunday morning to find 1500 kilograms of calf milk powder and 1500 kilograms of calf pellets missing from their property. However, the sheer amount taken shocked the pair - Murray said thieves would have needed a light truck or ute and trailer. Former Taranaki detective Blair Burnett, who currently works in rural real estate, said it sounded like a targeted theft.
