The focus of the probe is the maneuvering characteristics augmentation system, the anti-stall system that forces the jet’s nose down if its sensors provide data that the plane is ascending at too great a speed and may have malfunctioned and inadvertently caused nosedives shortly after takeoff on Flight 302 and October’s Lion Air Flight 610 in Indonesia, the newspaper said.
