IN a bid to get more industry-related background for students, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, has partnered with the Nigeria Machine Tools Limited, Osogbo, the state capital, to offer Direct Industry Qualifications. The partnership as facilitated by M8 Global Know Network is aimed at bridging institutions to industries for the 21st century relevant workplace skills. The head of project and partnership of M8 Global Know Network, Dr. Lovedays Egbedion, stressed the need for a synergy between industries and academic institutions for current knowledge and resource collaborations. He emphasised that the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been promoting the Nigerian Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) for direct socio-economic impact between the public and private sectors. He stated that students would be enrolled for the Direct Industry Qualifications (DIQ) in Engineering and Sciences.
