A Chief Lecturer and director, Academic Planning Unit, Federal College of Education, Special, Oyo, Dr Paul Ademola Ojebode, has said that any society that is morally bankrupt stands the risk of collapse. While delivering the 9th inaugural lecture of the college recently, Dr Ojebode said the role of moral education is to minimize, if possible to eradicate, all forms of ills in the society, teaching people to work and live together in harmony. He expressed regret that violence has entered schools and communities where various teenagers and even adults oppose any attempt by teachers to control and educate their children in moral education. Ojebode listed the different agencies that impact on the moral education of a child as the home, school, church, peers group and mass media. He then called on all to live by the correct teaching of the various religions.
