Police are at the scene of a fatal crash in Balfour in Southland. Officers were called to Queen St, near the intersection of State Highway 94, about 10am today after reports of a car submerged in a creek. "The serious crash unit was called out to the scene and are investigating,'' the spokeswoman said. "A car has driven off the road into a creek.'' It was unclear what led to the crash.
