Farming is exempt from the two-week lockdown announced by the Government last night. As Ireland today enters a strict two-week period of almost total lockdown in a bid to crush the coronavirus outbreak, full details of the list of exempt workers is expected to be published this morning. With very few exceptions, people must stay in their homes for more than a fortnight - until Easter Sunday, April 12. The Taoiseach said that for farming purposes, such as food production or to care for animals, would be part of the exempt group. The government published a list of essential workers who are allowed to travel to work despite the coronavirus lockdown.
