PHOTO: SANDY EGGLESTONWaikaka farmer Jono Gardyne has taken the message to recycle seriously and is making art out of scrap steel. Gardyne entered six items at the Waikaka Arts and Crafts exhibition, including a life-sized bull, named Recycle-a-Bull. Gardyne said he used discarded machinery parts including plough points, chains, disc blades, chopper knives from his farming operation. He had been making art out of scrap steel for about three years after seeing something similar at an earlier Waikaka exhibition.
