Farm labour shortages likely to worsen without costly corrective actionProblem will persist into the next decade. However implementing solutions cannot be delayed too long or the labour shortage will keep worsening and become a barrier to growth in the sector. “The shortage of workers has developed because of low growth in labour supply compared with demand. Whatever solutions are decided on will have a financial impact over the long term and implementation cannot be delayed too long otherwise because of the adverse impact on the sector, FCC said.
