Newly appointed Minister for the Ministry of Public Administration Farhad Hossain CollectedBefore being elected as an MP in 2014, Farhad Hossain was an assistant professor at Dhaka City CollegeFarhad Hossain is going to be the first person to hold a cabinet position from the historic Meherpur-Mujibnagar area. As a state minister, he will be under the lead of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has kept the portfolio to herself. Before being elected as an MP in 2014, Farhad Hossain was an assistant professor at Dhaka City College. His father, Mohammad Sahiuddin, the founding president of Meherpur Awami League, was elected MP from this constituency multiple times before his death in 1990. Farhad Hossain is also the husband of late Awami League leader Syed Ashraful Islam's cousin.
