A pre-inquest review hearing held at Cockermouth Coroners’ Court on Wednesday, heard that CCTV footage from the yard at Coombe & Sharpe had “overwritten itself” after a period of time. The hearing was told that the police officer had taken notes from the CCTV but had not asked for the footage. Mr Taylor’s family said it was “frustrating” that “no one thought it was important to keep it” as the footage may have provided a timeline of what had happened before racking had collapsed. Coroner Kirsty Gomersal said she would enquire with police if there were notes taken from the CCTV footage. Mr Taylor’s family also requested a summary of the training and experience he had been given during his employment.
