Iqbal Kabir Chowdhury, senior jail superintendent of Dhaka central jail at Keraniganj, confirmed the matter. Majed’s wife Safia Begun told Dhaka Tribune that she had not gone to Keraniganj but four people including two of her daughters and her brother-in-law visited Abdul Majed. After spending life as a fugitive for more than 20 years, Abdul Majed, one of the convicts in the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was finally sent to jail as a death-row inmate on Tuesday.
