The incident took place on Friday at Dhaka’s Aminbazar and the couple was fined Tk80,000. In a similar incident, Shahin Kabir, family planning inspector of Aminpur union of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj, was suspended from duties for holding his wedding ceremony by defying government's restrictions on mass gathering due to coronavirus. The Bangladesh Government announced general holidays from March 26 till April 11 which was then extended till April 25 in two stages. There have been 27 deaths and 424 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Bangladesh from March 18 till now.
