SIBU: Eleven members of a family can thank their lucky stars as they were away when their house in Jalan Melekun, Kapit was buried in a landslide. Kapit Fire and Rescue Department chief Erwandy Tugor said the family had gone to their longhouse, leaving their detached house empty when the landslide occurred. The house, which was at the foot of a hill, was buried in the 2.17am incident Thursday (Nov 23). Three other detached houses nearby were also damaged. With intermittent rain due the bad weather, he said, there was a possibility that another landslide would occur in the area.
