Tony Okafor, AwkaFamily members of the burnt victims at the Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital mortuary in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Tuesday, blocked the gate of the hospital. Doctors, health officials and patients were trapped in the hospital as the protesters refused them entrance or exit from the complex. One of the protesters, Mr Christian Okoye, whose mother, Mrs Amoge Okoye, was among the burnt corpses, said the protesters locked the entrance gate to the hospital so as to ask the government to produce his mother’s corpse and others. He said, “We have over 200 corpses burnt in that morgue, but till date, the government has not deemd it necessary to set up a panel of enquiry. Umeadi stated, “They abandoned the burnt corpses at the backyard of the Amaku hospital.
