OPINION: There is a long-standing convention, at least in New Zealand political circles, that the families of political rivals are off limits. Part of that tradition also has it that families keep out of the political arena. One was a green-coloured image of the Prime Minister which was captioned “the incredible sulk,” an apparent reference to the TV series the Incredible Hulk. A second post shows the Prime Minister as milkmaid captioned, “Cindy is milking the WuFlu for all it’s worth now”, an allegation that she was using Covid-19 for political purposes. Finally the posts are probably not worth the bother of a formal response and most politicians will honour the tradition of keeping families out of the arena.
