Grace Duncan, centre stage, will turn her audience's stories into song as part of competition Audience Song this month. Whether composing for a lone folk singer, or a choir of 60, songwriters around the country can take part in two competitions this month. As part of nationwide project Audience Song, eight songwriters are set to take part in a new collaborative online creative project, turning everyday people’s stories into songs. Kāpiti-based alternative folk singer-songwriter Grace Duncan, 21, one of the selected songwriters, was enjoying seeing her audience’s stories trickle in. While the solo artists are hard at work, Choirs Aotearoa NZ, which manages national choirs Youth Choir, Voices, and the NZ Secondary Students Choir, has launched Compose Aotearoa.
