China's procuratorial organs prosecuted 2,416 suspects in 1,980 criminal cases related to the coronavirus pandemic by Thursday, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said today, Xinhua reports. Meanwhile, prosecutors across the country had approved the arrest of 3,517 suspects involved in such crimes. Prosecutors filed charges against 26 suspects for crimes of hindering the prevention and control of infectious diseases, the SPP said, adding that 572 were prosecuted for obstructing official duties. Other violations include intentional injuries, manufacturing or selling fake or inferior products, illegal business operations including price gouging, fraud, fabricating and intentionally transmitting false information and damaging wildlife resources.
