An author and lecturer at the University of Texas, United States, Prof. Toyin Falola, will on July 8 deliver the Oba Sikiru Adetona Professorial Chair distinguished governance lecture, a statement by the organisers has said. The lecture, according to the statement, will address the subject, ‘Governance, Citizenship and the Nigerian State’ to highlight the inter-relationship between citizenship, its current status in the Nigerian polity and governance. “That apart, the lecture is billed to offer policy recommendations targeted at lifting Nigeria out of the current pervasive poverty, material and intellectual, to which it has been sentenced by weak governance and well leadership deficits.”Copyright PUNCH.
