Faeldon files leave as Corrections chiefBy The Manila TimesCORRECTIONS Chief Nicanor Faeldon filed a leave of absence on Friday, the same day that his son was arrested in a drug raid in Naga City, his lawyer said. Jose Dino said Faeldon’s leave took effect “upon acceptance by the Secretary of Justice” although Menardo Guevarra said he has not yet received the request. When informed of the arrest of Nicanor Jr., earlier on Friday, Faeldon said he would resign and “obliterate his son from the face of the earth” if he would test positive for drug use. Justice spokesman Mark Perete said the matter would have to be reviewed, considering that Faeldon was appointed recently to the post. NEIL JAYSON N. SERVALLOS
