The construction of Narok-Sekanani road will begin in three weeks ahead of the wildebeest migration, Transport CS James Macharia (pictured) has said. The wildebeest migration is one of the Seven New Wonders of the World as nowhere in the world has there been a movement of animals as immense as the wildebeest migration. In a statement, he said the ministry, through the Kenya National and Highways Authority, has awarded the contract for the construction of the 82km road. “We realise that the road is a vital link to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Park, which will soon be attracting visitors, both local and international, to see wonders of the world wildebeest migration expected to commence soon,” he said. The CS said the ministry has also awarded a Sh10.4 billion contract for the construction of the Garsen-Witu-Lamu road to China Wu Yi construction company.
